Dear Dhamma Friends,
The Pathologist's biopsy report came out yesterday. It is with my deepest sorrow to report to you that, according to the report, the removed tumor is a "Glioblastoma Multiforme". In layman's term it is a very aggressive type of malignant cancer. The prognosis is not very good for Sayadaw.
A CT scan of his brain was taken last night and the result shows clear of turmor now. However, Sayadaw was not talking or eating yesterday except he took a few steps outside his room. The doctors think it is because of the heavy dose of medication given to him to prevent siezures and to ease the pain from a long 4-hour surgery.
We are praying and hoping that Sayadaw will talk again.
